About This Item
New York: Arbor House, 1989. First Edition, First Printing. Signed presentation copy from Elmore Leonard to fellow mystery novelist Sue Grafton. Inscribed: “For Sue Grafton, A pleasure signing with you. I am looking forward to the ‘F’ word. Elmore Leonard 4-24-89”. On April 24, 1989, Elmore Leonard and Sue Grafton held a joint autograph signing at the Scene of the Crime mystery bookstore in Sherman Oaks, California where they met for the first time and then became friends. Grafton signed her new book F Is For Fugitive, hence the amusing reference in Leonard’s inscription to her. Fine in a fine dust jacket. With the Sue Grafton estate bookplate on the front pastedown, and with a letter of authentication from Grafton's husband. A terrific association copy of two of the most acclaimed and successful mystery writers of their day. “Killshot was made into a 2008 American thriller film directed by John Madden and starring Diane Lane, Thomas Jane, Mickey Rourke and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The story follows a couple who, despite being in a Witness Protection Program, are being chased and confronted by the criminal they outed”.
