About This Item

Middlesex, England: Puffin Books, Penguin Books, 1974. Paperback. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6?" - 7?" tall. Lotte Reiniger. Paperback in Good Condition. Newly re-told out of the old romances, from original sources, by Roger Lancelyn Green and illustrated by Lotte Reinger. 22 of the old stories are re-told. The artist used an entirely new method of illustration. Her pictures are not pen-and-ink drawings or wood-cuts; they were cut out of thin black paper with special scissors; these delicate scissor-cuts were then mounted on transparent paper, and from them a set of much smaller pictures were made for this book. The book is generally clean but does show wear and use. There is underlining of text and a few notes written in but the pages are clean and easily readable, moderately toned, particularly around edges. 282 pages. 4.4 x 7 inches. 1974, Puffin Books, Penguin Books, Middlesex, England
