Laid in is TLS on Congressional stationery of Samuel Wilder King, Delegate from Hawai'i, who later served as Governor. The December 28, 1939 letter is addressed Dear Colleague and accompanied a gift of this book. The letter is folded in half and toned. This book looks at Hawai'ian history and the operation of the sugar cane industry, including wages, working conditions, and the provision of medical care and housing by plantation owners. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
