About This Item
London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1892. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. Handsome full leather tree calf prize binding of Lytton's epic poem. Only published after his death, Lytton had worked on King Poppy for a number of years, re-writing it more than once. A melange of fable and fairy-tale, Lytton supplied marginal notes which are printed here in red. With Wellington college crest to cover. Inner and outer dentelles. Marbled end-papers with matching marbling to page edges. With unassigned prize bookplate to front pastedown. Some light foxing to front matter and sporadically throughout. Rubbing to extremities. Contents crisp and clean. Binding sound. Very good.
