The Kon-Tiki Expedition - with wrap-around band

by Heyerdahl, Thor

Condition: See description

London: Allen and Unwin, 1950. A first edition, first printing published by Allen and Unwin in 1950. Very scarce first printing in publisher's original brown boards with blind mask design to centre of front board and gilt titles to spine - all still fresh clean and bright. The binding is tight, sound and square. Internally clean with the slightest hint of spotting to end papers. The unclipped dustjacket is crisp and vibrant with a hint of rubbing at spine ends; unusually the original dedicated Book Society wrap-around band still present. A remarkably well preserved copy.
