New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1881. First Edition . Decorative Cloth. Very Good. Large 8vo. Pyle, Howard. Large 8vo Green cloth with gilt decorations and black lettering. Patterned endpapers. Un-numbered pages. Full color illustrations throughout. Gilt is rubbed, corners and lower spine edge rubbed, light soil from handling. Signatures are lightly shaken, but still soundly in binding. Plates are clean and bright, one crease in spine cloth. Gift presentation (Christmas 1891) to previous owner appears on recto of first blank page. A very early Pyle item - his second book and a noted example of early American color printing in Art Nouveau style.
