A very scarce first edition.In the original French.Illustrated with a colour title page, as well as colourful and monochrome illustrations throughout.An interesting study on the aeronautical side of World War One.The aeronautical developments of the beginning of the twentieth century proved essential to the war effort during the First World War. This volume explores many different facets of this, including bombing aviation, the French Reconnaissance Air Force, engines, the armament of airplanes, electricity in aviation, propeller construction, parachutes, the effort to organise air forces, maritime aeronautics, and more, including an insight into the future of commercial aeronautics. Edited by Maurice de Brunoff, with contributions by many authors, including messieurs Dumesnil, Marchis, Andrew Laine, Dorand, Martinot-Lagarde, and more. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, cloth is discoloured, as is usual with a cream cloth, including with a red mark to the tail of the front board. Spine is discoloured. Bumping to the head of the spine, with some loss, and minor bumping to the extremities. Tide mark to the tail of the rear board. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with a tide mark to the tail of the text block, with only a light mark to the pages. Good
