About This Item

Harper & Row/Atheneum, 1980. This Stated First Edition (and unless it's stated, it's not) also includes a "number line" ending in a "1" to indicate First Printing. The book is bound in a cream-colored cloth with the author's initials in gilt against a red and gilt background, as well as gilt spine titles against a similar background. The book has top-edge red stain. There is a small erasure mark on the front endpaper. The dust jacket in price-clipped and has two small closed tears. I've placed the dust jacket into an archival Brodart protective sleeve. This novel from the author of "The Peaceable Kingdom" deals with the relationship and adventures of a Dutch girl and concentration camp survivor and the American boy she meets when her camp is liberated. Both are Quakers and they start new lives together in the American Southwest. The book measures 6 3/8 by 9 1/2 inches and includes 443 pages.. Stated First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
