Green bevel-edge pictorial cloth stamped in gilt, bordered in black, brown endpapers. pp 357. [1]. (2. ads), [2], including frontispiece with tissue guard and 39 other wood-engraved illustrations, many full-paged. Condition - in excellent condition all plates present, unmarked except for a prior owner's stamp on a blank endpaper, with a slight cant or lean forward to the binding. "Narrative of a visit to Greenland in the steam yacht by the author (Royal Geographic Society) accompanied by the artist William Bradford, 1869. Giving an account of the trip along the coast, from Julianehaab to Melville Bay, with chapters on the Norse ruins, on the settlement of Julianehaab, glaciers, icebergs, fiords, polar bear hunting, Upernavik, Disko Island, Godhavn, etc. With numerous illustrations of local scenes and customs" - Arctic Bibliography 6792.
