About This Item
1923. Macmillan and Co. Second reprint of first edition. No DW as handsomely bound in half red calf gilt, raised bands with the Indian peace symbol to each compartment of spine. Sadly for Kipling the fact this emblem was flipped and used as the logo for the Nazi party meant many of his leather and bound editions were destroyed as nobody wanted to see this symbol in any form, which is understandable. Some wear to head and tail of spine and edges. Top edge of pages gilt, endpapers marbled. A very clean and sound copy.
