Described hard,but fairly and honestly.
Visually the exterior appearance is suitable as a reading copy, and particularly internally, the book is in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of it's age. It is mainly the exterior faults described that prevents a higher grading. Despite them,it really is still an acceptable copy for its internal cleanliness and brightness. A collection of short stories and some poems/poetry. Written when Kipling was Chief Scout Commissioner, this collection of poems and short stories extolling the Empire were very much part of the times.
