About This Item
8vo. 156 pp. 11 portraits of forensic experts (9 photographic, 2 lithographic). Publishers Original wrappers now Mylar protected. First edition, uncommon, of this history of criminology and compilation of forensic understanding. Citing 11 of the most re- nowned and prolific experts on the subject, the author outlines criminal theory, biological and social causes of crime, types of of- fenses, and penal applications in 17 chapters. Laurent profiles differ- ent criminal "types", such as women, children, and the mentally ill, and lists suicide as a form of murder. He pays particular attention to the nationality of opposing theories. A sympathetically re-backed copy which displays some soiling on the wrapper covers. A very good overall with clean plates. Very uncommon in the original wrappers.
