Signed. First Edition. History and stories of las Tejanas, women of Spanish / Mexican origin and their role in Texas history since the beginning of the 1700's. Thorough, authoritative and well researched. Both authors are scholars and prolific historians and writers. Ruthe Winegarten has inscribed the book to her friend, Joe Atkins, prominent Dallas civil rights activist. The book is in near fine condition with only very slight bumps at the top right. In addition to Winegarten's inscription, both authors have signed on the title page.
