Chicago: John C. Winston, 1942. Eighth Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Marguerite Kirmse. May 1942 Eight Printing stated, one of the most famous of all dog books, an all time classic, 248 pages, Book is at least Very Good plus, previous owner bookplate on second free page and name on first free page, ultra clean bright yellow cloth with black title to spine, nice peach colored top stain, great illustration of Lassie on front board, excellent black and white illustrations throughout, map end papers of England and Scotland with the journey marked in red, book tight and square with sharp corners. Jacket is at least Good plus, fantastic illustration on front cover, light chipping to corners and edges, with 1.5 inch loss to head, slight loss to heel of spine, shows nicely in a new mylar sleeve. Ultra clean and most presentable edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
