Paris, 1901. Softcover. Near Fine. Folio. Illustrated front cover, pp. 574-588. No. 37, 14 December 1901. Special number with a focus on the future of aviation, depicting the possible and humorous ways air balloons might be used in future. Some illustrations depict transatlantic travel, hunting, in sport, travel to the Polar regions, uses as hotels, bars among other things. Featuring lovely illustrations in colour, with 3 folding plates, one of which is about 3 feet in length, and a middle 2-page spread of a bull fight featuring the matadors in balloons fighting a bull from above. The corners of the front cover with a couple little chips right to the edges and very little foxing, the staples reset, with some barely visible paper repairs to the inside spine. A fresh copy overall, in excellent condition.
