George Catlin was an American traveler and artist known for his perspective and understanding of Native Americans and the American West. He wrote essays on the life and culture of Indians including two works for a juvenile audience, "Life Among the Indians" and "Last Rambles amongst the Indians". His depictions of traditional Native American clothing, housing, and customs are some of the most accurate and detailed that exist from this time period and these works are unique in that they include information from Catlin travels that are not found elsewhere.
This 1867 first edition includes 8 plates and 16 woodcuts of Indian portraits, life, and scenery!
