Publisher's advertising printed on recto of first leaf. Book Condition: Very Good+, covers a little dusty with a crease to lower front corner. A great example of why we love these preliminary printings, uncorrected proofs especially; they represent the earliest printed edition usually, and in this case the publisher's information on front cover indicates a 100,000 copy first printing (!) planned for the first trade edition, which, while we knew Didion was a star, that's Stephen King type numbers. Suddenly the dozens of 1st printings available offered by the trade makes more sense. An enormous first printing. Also, in this case, The Knopf first edition is preceded by a special limited Franklin Library Edition; not so with our Uncorrected Proof, it preceeds even the Franklin Edition.
