A bright first edition copy of this autobiographical work by Norman Douglas, enclosed in the original publisher's dust wrapper. The first edition of this work. Containing the author's reflections on his own life and work, with notes on his travels to Capri and the Tunisian desert, to Syracuse, Ischia, and Ponza with character studies of the people he encountered, and on his time as assistant editor of the English Review. Norman Douglas was a British writer, best known for his novel South Wind. His travelogues were also highly regarded. Complete with original unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear only. Dust wrapper unclipped and very smart with minor shelf wear, darkened to spine with minor closed tear to tail of spine. Previous ownership inscription to front free endpaper, undated. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting affecting particularly first and last few leaves, pages otherwise bright and clean throughout. Very Good Indeed
