Light rubbing and some minor scuffs, scratches and soiling to boards, which are separating at ends but secured by cords, moderate rubbing to extremities, chipping to spine ends, corners lightly bumped and worn, faint offsetting to endpapers. Nineteenth-century quarter morocco over paper-covered boards, gilt title and fillets to spine, untrimmed edges, endpapers renewed. Moderate rubbing to extremities, corners bumped, twentieth-century bookplate (G.C.L. Ross) to front pastedown.
