The sixteenth edition of this work. In lovely leather binding. The Lay of the Last Minstrel is one of Sir Walter Scott's narrative poems which have copious notes. The poem is set within the Scottish Borders in the mid-16th Century and is presented as being sung by a minstrel. The poem exudes a patriotism and champions chivalry and the dangers of the unknown. Sir Walter Scott was a Scottish historian, novelist and poet with many of his works remaining classics. In full morocco binding. Externally, very smart with some light marks to the boards and spine. A previous owner inscription to the front pastedown and page before the title page. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good Indeed
