About This Item
Dated in another hand, 10 October 1805. Fragment only, 2 x 8 inches, in good condition. Abraham Newland (17301807), banking official. He became chief cashier of the Bank of England in 1782. His signature on Bank of England notes became so familiar that they were known as Abraham Newlands.
