New York: Left and Right, Inc, 1965. The second issue of this libertarian journal founded in 1965 by Murray Rothbard and Leonard Liggio. Its publication marked their formal break from the right and symbolized their ultimately naive belief that the New Left embodied libertarian ideals. Content for this issue includes two unsigned editorials; "The Case of David Mitchell Versus the United States" by Mitchell's attorney, Conrad Lynn (Mitchell was jailed for failing to report for induction into the armed forces); "Liberty and the New Left," Rothbard's idealistic analysis of the potential for libertarianism among the New Left; and a reprint of Daniel Webster's "On Conscription."

Stapled wrappers (5 ½" x 8 ½"), 72 p. Vertical crease, rubbing to wrappers, paper clip imprint to the front cover & title page.

Institute. New. Hardcover. *** FREE UPGRADE to Courier/Priority Shipping Upon Request *** - *** IN STOCK AND IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT - Flawless copy, brand new, pristine, never opened -- 690 pages. Description: "Here it is: the most influential and famous low-circulation, typewriter-typed scholarly journal of the 20th century. In 1965, the conservative movement was infatuated with war, while the left was still enraptured by socialism. The Rothbardians gathered to smash the entire political spectrum by forging the new idea of libertarianism. They kept the best of right and the best of left, while discarding the worst of both. And they employed this new ideological apparatus to interpret the world of the time. The result is challenging, even explosive, with all the characteristic mix of rigor and abandon that we expect from Rothbard. Herein lies political liberation. It is the complete (and hugely rare) complete collection, in print for the first time ever. "… Read More
