Large, heavy softcover, black background to spine and front left wrapper with illustration from above of a leopard, beautiful color-illustration of rural scene at front wrapper right, 469 lightly browned pages. Illus. by C.D. Williams, including frontispiece. Ink name and date (1976) on first front end paper, ink notes at top of Dedication page with page numbers, ink underlining or notes on pp. 458, 463-464, 468-9. Light wear to front tip, very tiny tear and slight wear to spine top edge, very slight wear at spine bottom edge, light wear to long spine edge. A white racist view of Reconstruction. Near Very Good.
