San Francisco: The Book Club of California, 1956. 99 pp. Approximately 8 x 11 1/2"; Translucent white paper dustjacket slightly darkened with chips at foot of spine, creases and small wormhole, in good + condition; Decorated boards with red cloth spine, limited edition of 350 copies and printed by Edwin and Robert Grabhorn for Colt Press as stated in the colophon, photograph frontispiece, book plate on front paste-down endpaper, in near fine condition. Frank Norris (1870 - 1902) was an American journalist and author who is best known for his novel "McTeague", written in 1899. He was a member of the Bohemiam Club of San Francisco during the Gold Rush days. As a journalist, he worked for the San Francisco Chronicle and McClure's and traveled quite a bit through South Africa and Cuba. He died quite young after an appendicitis attack
