London: T. McLean, D.& P. Colnaghi and John F. Lewis, 1838. First Edition. First edition. Contains all 27 tinted lithographed plates on 25 leaves, by Lewis after Coke Smyth. Rebound in 20th century three quarters green leather with marbled paper sides, ruled and lettered in gilt. Very Good, a noncirculating ex-library copy with a small bookplate on the paste down, call number in gilt at foot, small pencil notations to verso of title, small ink number written on facing page. Leather worn at extremities. Plates are in truly excellent shape, very bright, with faint occasional finger soiling. A lovely, large illustrated guide to Constantinople in the Ottoman Empire.
