About This Item

Stateville, North Carolina: Brady Printing Company, 1979. First Edition. . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good +. F/VG+/Signed . A beautiful full color pictural history of Liberty County Georgia. This history begins with the arrival of the first settlers in 1752, and their organization of the Midway Congregational Church and Society, and continues through the plantation days, the settlement of the retreats, the Revolutionary War period, the parish's two signers of the Declaration of Independence and the War Between the States. The development of the county is traced through brief sketches of fourteen settlements including the counties of McIntosh and Long, which were originally a part of Liberty County. Reproduction of original maps and documents and more than 200 photographs, many in color, of historic landmarks--houses, churches, schools, public buildings, slave cabins, cemeteries and memorabilia of the early settlers--provide a remarkable visual record of the county's history. Book Condition is Fine; green cloth over spine with gold lettering to front and spine. Clean, no markings. Binding tight, and pages are clean and white. 176pp. First Edition. Maps, color and b&w photos, index. Dust Jacket is Very Good+; whole jacket with very good color, several small tears, clean and covered with a mylar dust jacket. Size: Large
