Green cloth boards and spines with lightly tarnished gilt lettering on the spines; emblem on the front board corresponds to that book's contents. 2055 pp (Vol1-436pp, Vol2-242pp, Vol3-552pp, Vol4-590pp, Vol5-235pp) 8to. Contents are Vol. I - Rolf in the Woods [Hiking and Canoeing] Vol. II - Wild Animal Ways [Animals and Birds] Vol. III - Two Little Savages [Indiancraft] Vol. IV. - The Book of Woodcraft And Indian Lore [Woodcraft] Vol. V. - Woodland Tales [Earth and Sky]. Thompson was a very early naturist and outdoors enthusiast who started the Woodcraft Indians group to help develop character in youth. He later was a proponent for the Boy Scouts of America. These books stress his desire for youth to be involved in the outdoors and model their lives on some of the characters in his books.
