About This Item

New York: Bantam Books, 1989. Hardcover. Very Good,/Fine. Neat very sound copy. First impression in publisher's blue boards quarter bound in navy cloth with gilt titles to spine, 392 pages, black & white photographic plates, bibliography, index. Some spotting to edges, slight bump to rear top corner. The first in-depth portrait of Warhol: the Prince of Pop, the pixie-like painter, film maker, publisher and partygoer extraordinaire who was rarely out of the headlines from the time he shocked the art world with his Campbell's soup cans in the 1960's until his premature death in 1987.
