About This Item

London: The Folio Society, 1965. Folio Society edition in slipcase from 1964. Some damage to black slipcase, with a one-and-a-half inch split at the corner at the closed side, also some scuffing to the other corner. Slight scuffing to ends of red leather spine but gilt titles theron are still bright, minor bumping to corners of gray wood-effect boards, but otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover book. A life of Thomas Becket based on contemporary accounts, mainly that of his clerk William fitzStephen. Translated and edited, and with introduction by George Greenaway. Originally published by Folio Society in 1961, this is a third impression from 1965. 172pp, 8 b&w illustrations.. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
