(Subject: Political & Biographies - General) 1960's Facsimile reprint of 1808 edition. Horatio, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronté was noted for his inspirational leadership, superb grasp of strategy and unconventional tactics, which resulted in a number of decisive naval victories. He was wounded several times in combat, losing one arm and the sight in one eye. Of his several victories, the best known and most notable was the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, during which he was shot and killed. The last pages of this account describe the great sadness of his funeral in detail. (Published: 1962) (Publisher: Paul Minet) (Pagination: 100pp) (Condition: Good in blue boards) UL-XXXXXX

Textblock of heavy wove cream paper; textblock gilt on all edges. The boards, now stabilized and robust, show knocks and erosion at corners and edges-and have seen service, alas, as coasters for beverages on more than one occasion, with additional streaked scuffing and scraping. The hinges have been reinforced with sea-green binder's tape. The textblock shows liquid staining at upper corners of first 22 pages, and on the lower outer quadrants of the final eight pages. Despite its seven amputed engravings, the volume remains very…
