New York: Charles Scribner's Sons. Fair with no dust jacket. [c.1878]. Hardcover. Two volumes in one. An undated, sixth edition of William Forsyth's 1863 biography of Rome's famous orator, author and statesman, Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC). His efforts were influential in the establishment of the Roman Empire. With numerous black & white drawings. Likely published c.1878. --- In full ribbed reddish-brown cloth-covered boards with titling on paper label pasted to upper spine, TEG (top edge gilt). Volume lacks a dust jacket. --- With conspicuous age-toning to cloth, loosened front hinge, tear to front joint, another across the width of the spine, and near-complete fading to spine label. Interior remains tightly-bound and lacking markings, though leaves are slightly tanned.
