Auburn & Buffalo: Miller, Orton & Mulligan, 1854. 384pp. plus four plates (including frontispiece). Modern marbled paper-covered boards, gilt leather label. Binding a bid tender in a couple places, minor foxing, scattered damp- staining to the top edge. Good. Designated "third thousand" at the head of the titlepage, with the same collation and plates as the first edition, and issued in the same year. Delano went overland in 1849, and became one of the leading literary chroniclers of the gold rush as "Old Block." A factual account of the trip and life at the diggings.
