London: Scott, Webster & Geary, 1839. Hardcover. VERY GOOD MINUS. REPRINT, PROBABLE 2ND EDITION. 5.5 x 3.25", LEATHER. All edges gilt. Gilt lettering and design on spine. In-blind decoration to brown leather boards. Book is very tightly bound with no markings save one tape repaired page (frontis). Frontis and title page engravings by H. Corbould and C. Heath. Light rubbing to extremities, corners mildly nudged. Foxing to frontis and title page. Fore-edges of two pages chipped a bit. Family letter, of 1910 laid-in, which states this belonged to Grandpa Fletcher who was in the Civil War imprisoned in Andersonville prison. 379 pp. Very nice. Solid binding. Henry Kirke White 1785 -- 1806. "White's poems contain many allusions to himself that they may almost be considered an autobiography, " (wikipedia).
