First volume showing bookplate from the libary of Oscar Benjamin Cintas, prominent sugar and railroad magnate and book collector who served as Cuba's ambassador to the United States from 1932 until 1934; Often praised as the greatest biography written in English, Boswell's famous work covers Samuel Johnson, (1709 -1784), English poet, essayist, moralist, literary critic, biographer, editor and lexicographer; Small 8vo .
