A very fine and scarce limited edition in two volumes: "This edition is limited to Sixty copies of which this is No. 9" signed "B. W. Willets". 36 engraved plates by Henry Alken, each in two states (monochrome and hand-coloured) and each with a captioned tissue guard; pp. vol. I: [2], xi, [1], 167, [1]; vol. II: vii, [1], 233, [1]. Fine, crisp, handmade paper. Top edges gilt other edges uncut, quarter cream buckram cloth with blue paper-covered boards, vellum tips. Bindings very good with light wear only, spines slightly toned. Contents clean and tight, slight evidence of a previous bookplate to the front paste-downs otherwise unmarked. A very good to fine set of this impressive edition..
