New York: The Catholic Publication Society, 1873. First American Edition . Hardcover. Poor/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. 180pp. Ex-library. Translated from the original French by James F. Meline. Small volume, bound in original red but very worn cloth, though gilt lettering and decoration remain clear and bright. Cloth admits to a number of tears and stains. Some browning to paper, with several leaves not quite squaring up with other leaves. Several short, unobtrusive tears and small spots to interior; else, text clean. Some splitting to paper over hinges and binding a little shaken. An acceptable reading copy
