London: George Routledge & Sons Limited, 1886. Second edition, revised, with additional notes. With 12 appendices and an index. Edited by C.H. Firth. Also titled: Memoirs of William Cavendish Duke of Newcastle and Margaret His Wife. Red cloth with gilt decoration on coved and faded gilt titles on sunned spine. Gilt topstain. 232 pages with black and white frontispiece (probably steel engraving.) Spine cover is torn and mended with cello tape; bumped corners and head and heel of spine. Looks like some penciled erasures on reverse of fep; penciled price on half title page. Light soil or fingermarks on blank reverse of frontispiece. Very firmly bound, however, front hinge is split to webbing but firmly attached to book.
