London: Macmillan and Co., 1911. Leather. Very Good Indeed. 7" by 4.5". None. A biographical work on this British politician. With a frontispiece to every volume. William Ewart Gladstone was a British liberal and earlier conservative politician. His career lasted over sixty years and he served as the British Prime Minister on four separate occasions. The shilling edition of this work. Written by John Morley, a Liberal statesman, writer and journalist. In a quarter calf binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, generally smart with minor rubbing to the spines, mostly to the head, tail and raised bands. Bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges with spotting to the first and last few pages and the odd spots throughout. Very Good Indeed
