London: Williams & Norgate, Limited, 1929 Hard cover, 8vo., in publisher's blue trade cloth, with title in black to spine, 207 pp. Condition: Good. Spine sunned, with some paint spatter and wear to head and foot. Binding is firm, however, and pages moderately age-toned. ** The Reverend Doctor Walsh (1857 -1931) was a Scottish religious reformer, and the founder of the Free Religious Movement towards World-Religion and World-Brotherhood. He was a pacifist, deeply affected by the Great War of 1914, and sermonized at international peace conferences in Europe and America. He was also a notably well-bearded promoter of vegetarianism. Ownership inscription in old ink to ffep. "John Hayes Holmes, 1929." Holmes (1879-1964) was a prominent Unitarian minister, pacifist and co-founder of the NAACP in 1909 . He also was involved in the founding of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in 1920, serving as chairman between 1940 and 1950.
