Lika Joko, London, 1894. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good Condition. Size: 4to - between 9¾ - 12" tall. viii + 16pp. One volume of the 26-volume set. Binding firm. Scattered foxing, but text mostly clean. Edges foxed and browned. Staples rusted. Covers slightly marked. Furniss left Punch in 1894 when its owners discovered that he had sold one of his 'Punch' drawings to Pears Soap for use in an advertising campaign. He then brought out his own humorous magazine Lika Joko, which had limited success at the time. Comes with associated newspaper snippet. Profusely illustrated. Quantity Available: 1. London, 1894. Soft cover. Good/No Jacket (as published). 8.5" x 12. 24pp. The first edition of a weekly magazine which had a a very short run (less than a year) before folding. There are 8 pages of period advertisements + 16 pages of articles and drawings, mostly light hearted and satirical. In clean and sound condition although there is some rusting around the staples.
