Limited to 200 hardcover trade copies & 100 signed and numbered copies and 26 lettered copies. This is copy 63/100 . Tom Clark grew up in an Irish neighborhood in Chicago (ala Mayor Daily) whose grand father was a cop ( a great start) and distinguished himself in school for his misconduct an d for also winning a city wide spelling bee. He began his literary career as sports editor of the Fenwick High School ( great football teams) newspaper and as an usher at baseball games ( probably the Sox), race tracks prize fights and political conventions ( lots of those). He graduated from The University of Michigan and went on to Cambridge on a Fulbright scholarship. he is known for his biographies of such diverse people as John Keats, L.F. Celine Robert Creeley and Mark ( the Bird) Fidrych ( Detroit Tigers), and his gritty , back of the yards poetry. i am a Chicago boy living near the University of Michigan and think his poetry honest and thoughtful.
