Narrow octavo 9" tall x 4 1/4" wide, saddle stitched, 64 pages, stiff color illustrated wraps. both are very good original copies over all, spine and cover edges light to moderately worn, generally clean and bindings sturdy, paper cream white. "The Linebook, made up of the brilliant nonsense and incomprable satire written daily by the Tribune's distinguished column conductor, Richard Henry Little, has been published annually since 1924.

Chicago;: Chicago Tribune. 4" x 9 1/2" 12 volumes dated from 1924-1932, 1934, 1937, 1943 and one without its wrapper and no date. The covers of the issues were often done by young illustrators in their twenties and early thirties. Boris Artzybasheff; Peter Arno, Hugh Chenoweth, W.H. Wisher; and several not identified. Besides the nice cover art, the poetry reflects the humor of the day. These copies came from the family of Frank Lloyd Wright. All have general wear with the exception of 1924 with some chipping and covers seperated, the 1924 edition has yapped edges white has tiny tears. A good set.

Very Good. 17 issues, with duplicates and additional volumes, of bespectacled Chicago Daily New columnist Richard Henry Little's humorous annual from his "Line o' Type or Two" column, 1923-1935. First edition. Most issues paperback, in colorful pictorial wraps by various artists- including one by Boris Artzybasheff, three hardcover issues which appear specially bound- two in cloth, one in half leather and patterned boards, each measures 4 by 9 in. Very good. Edge wear, soil to wraps. Lot uniformly complete, clean, and unmarked. Although these yearly volumes officially started in 1924 there is an undated one we believe is from 1923. Group from the estate of Agnes Szymanski, a Chicago native who died in 2003 at 91 and may have worked at the paper as a first job. 17vol. Digital images available upon request.
