Toronto: Stephenson, Blake & Co, 1922. Second Edition. Hardcover. Fair. [10], 43, [6], 120-474 p. 29 cm. Hundreds of examples of lettering, script, ornaments, etc., mainly b&w with some colour. Black cloth with white print. All edges red. Spine deteriorated with chipped head, lettering wearing off, large tear. Blue mark on front board. Corners and edges worn. Tear in bottom margin of a front page not affecting text.

Rare English type specimen, a large and compelling example of the form, modified for the Australasian market with sections on letterpress book titlings, newspaper founts and heading types, initials, borders, type ornaments, and cases of brass rule. The 'Advance Australia' Coat of Arms complete with kangaroo and emu appears before a page dedicated to depictions of horses and prize-worthy cattle. Stephenson, Blake & Co. supplied the Fleet Street newspapers from 1865.
