From the library of Prof. Grenville (Gren) Lucas OBE, much loved botanist and conservationist, with a charming dedication to Gren on the title page. Publisher’s invitation card to the book launch, loosely inserted - Gren was taking part in the second of the two launch days. Charting one of Linnaeus’ five provincial excursions in Sweden where he was able to record many new and unfamiliar species and where can be seen the first traces of his system of ‘binomial’ nomenclature which he was to fully introduce in his ‘Species Plantarum’ in 1753.
