Italy: The Jester Press, 1982. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Edward Heffernan. Signed by Author(s). Book as new; slipcase has minor handling marks. Numbered 57 of 125 copies signed in ink by the artist and author. Book is case bound in the full black buckram with matching slipcase and end papers. The spine has been blocked in gold foil and the front cover is blind embossed with the figure of a female. Photo of artist as a young man tipped in as a frontispiece. Introduction by Maree Heffernan has a seven reproductions tipped in. 32 linocuts tipped in with tissue guards sown into the sections. Titles and dates and description of each print is printed opposite on verso. Most linocuts shown in black-and-white, one in full color. Overweight and oversized. Edward Heffernan (1912-1992). Born Melbourne. Painter, teacher and industrial designer. Studied at National Gallery School, 1928-1931. Size/Overweight charges will apply.
