About This Item
Text in Polish. 21x29cm, Pb, laminated, new copy, 168pp, illustrated with over 300 photographs, 25 full color profiles and 1:144 scale plans. In 1938, the USSR purchased a license for the production of the Douglas DC-3 communications aircraft. However, its design did not fully meet the requirements of users and for this reason, designer Boris Lisunov adapted the design to the requirements and production capabilities in the USSR. The aircraft was given the designation PS-84 and by the end of 1939 its production was launched at the Aviation Factory No. 84 in Khimki. In early 1941, the aircraft's designation was changed to Li-2. A total of about 5,000 planes were produced.
