Top portion of the spine cloth needs to be repaired, with a tear extending across the width of the spine, detaching the cloth about halfway down the spine. Blind embossed cloth is rubbed in various places. Interior is clean & the binding is tight. Small piece of the blank front end paper is missing from the bottom corner.

The Globe edition of de Quincey' collected works, published 1881, shortly after Hurd and Houghton became Houghton, Mifflin. Previous owner's book-plate inside front cover. Unknown page after FFEP has been removed but half title and title page are present. Pencil markings inside front cover and on half title page.
