Octavo (21.5cm); patterned brown paper and black cloth-covered boards, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; map endpapers; dustjacket; xxii,440,[2]pp. Bookplate signed by the author loosely laid in. Spine gilt just a bit dulled, else Fine in a very Near Fine dustjacket, unclipped (priced $5.95), with some pinpoint wear to extremities, minor rippling to spine panel, and a single, tiny tear at lower edge of front panel. Attractive copy of Berger's third novel and most enduring work, a satirical western that served as the basis for Arthur Penn's 1970 film of the same name, starring Dustin Hoffman and Faye Dunaway.
