Jacket is chipped and edge-worn and has a small suff mark in the upper corner of the front panel. The author died the year after publication of this book. His wife has inscribed the title page of this copy: "Mystery Writers of America Southwest Chapter, This is Ed's latest book and my favorite. Please remember him. Sincerely, Mrs. Edward Mathis".
