Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1939. First Edition. Hardcover (1/4 Cloth 3/4 Boards). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Bernadine Bailey -- Photography. Illustrated end pages, one being a map of Denmark and the other coloured illustrations of Danish cultural highlights. Black-and-white photographic frontispiece, of the Little Mermaid  in Copenhagen harbour; the text is illustrated with numerous black and white photographs, taken by the author from around Denmark. 1/4 blue coloured textured cloth covered back strip. 3/4 blue coloured boards with red and black coloured illustration to the front panel, and black coloured titles also present. Part of Children of all Lands Stories Series. Designed for younger readers, this is a trip around Denmark with a young girl called Greta, giving a glimpse of Danish life at the end of the 1930s. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. The underlying board is visible at the book corners and front edges. Rubbing of the book edges and panels sunning also present. Some age toning of the text block edges and pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [8], 9 - 189, [1] pages..
